The Nursing Assistant (NA) at Good Samaritan serves residents in long-term care, delivering daily living assistance and basic nursing care under supervision. You will support bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility, while ensuring safety and comfort per the care plan.

You will document care activities, communicate changes to the RN, assist with meals and daily living tasks, and participate in wellness programs. The role offers benefits and a $10,000 sign-on bonus for eligible full-time staff.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age 16; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state-certified CNA within four months of start date.
• 12 hours of continuing education required annually.
• Applicable states: registered with UAP Registry if required.
• Role may classify as Sanford Category II Driver with motor vehicle report and valid license.
• Must be medically able to perform driving functions per Driving Policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN supervision.
• Assist with transfers, positioning, ROM, and walking using proper technique.
• Help with meals, dining, hydration, and supplements as appropriate.
• Document resident interactions and care outcomes for relevant records.
• Report changes in condition to charge nurse and care team.
• Provide housekeeping and laundry support to maintain a clean living area.
• Support wellness and recreational programs and participation.
