Good Samaritan in De Smet, SD is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) for full-time evening shifts in a long-term care setting. The NA provides resident-centered nursing care, assists with daily living activities, and supports infection control under RN supervision.

Eligible for a $10,000 sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits as a full-time employee. Responsibilities include hygiene, mobility assistance, vital signs collection, meal support, documentation, and teamwork with nursing staff.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.
• Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year. A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually.
• When applicable, for applicable states, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry.
• Dependent on facility and required responsibilities, this role may classify as a Sanford Category II Driver requiring a motor vehicle report and proof of valid driver's license.
• Also must be medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of this position as per our Sanford Driving Policy per the leaders request.

Responsibilities

• The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to the resident during the scheduled work period in long term care, providing resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Assists with basic health care needs including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, vital signs, and psychosocial support, and helps with transferring, repositioning and mobility.
• Completes tasks related to dining and meal assistance, documents resident interactions, and communicates changes in condition to the charge nurse.
