Job summary

Valley Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient intake, perform tasks at the front desk, and handle scheduling and insurance coordination. The role requires certification and strong communication, confidentiality and teamwork in a clinical setting.

The position supports clinical staff, participates in EMR documentation, and may involve working within various VMG locations as needed. Evening shifts are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a formal Medical Assistant program recognized by the State. Certification required.
• Six months of customer service/clerical experience required.
• Current and valid CMA or RMA certification recognized by the board is required.
• BCLS certification preferred upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients; collect payments and verify insurance at time of service.
• Manage daily patient schedule and answer calls related to appointments, refills or queries.
• Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure proper patient flow and care.
• Document accurately in the EMR system in accordance with policy.
