Job summary

Qualifications

• PharmD or BS Pharmacy Degree required.
• Active pharmacist licensure with the NC Board of Pharmacy or eligible before initiation of employment.
• Recent graduates may fill this role while awaiting licensure.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Receives prescriptions, interprets prescriptions, and reviews patient medication profiles; resolves issues with prescriber or health team.
• Assesses data to provide optimal drug therapy and makes clinical interventions.
• Compounds and oversees preparation and dispensing of medications, including sterile products.
• Ensures formulary adherence and therapeutic substitutions to optimize therapy and costs.
• Documents entries in medical records and regulatory records; ensures compliance.
• Counsels patients and families on pharmaceutical care issues as needed.
• Directs shift workflow and supervises technicians, students, and volunteers.
• Adheres to policies, procedures, and regulations; identifies process improvements.
• Precepts students and residents and participates in staff training.
