Baptist Health Shelby Hospital in Alabaster, AL seeks a Clinical Assistant Nurse Manager to lead shift operations and ensure high-quality patient care. This role focuses on staffing, patient flow, and collaboration with nursing leadership to maintain efficient service delivery.

The CANM will coordinate with Supervisors, Care Coordinators, and Discharge Planners while promoting safety, change management, and excellent patient experiences in a fast-paced acute care setting.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• Current RN licensure in Alabama (NLC if applicable).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience in acute care or leadership role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead shift operations to ensure high-quality care and efficient patient flow.
• Manage staffing assignments for oncoming/offgoing shifts based on patient acuity.
• Coordinate patient flow with Administrative Supervisors, Care Coordinators, and Discharge Planners.
• Monitor patient status, especially for seriously ill patients, and adjust as needed.
• Ensure delivery of patient care in alignment with physician orders and hospital policies.
• Serve as a resource for frontline staff and providers and promote clinical collaboration.
• Lead safety huddles and contribute to performance/quality improvement efforts.
• Identify equipment needs to support patient care and ensure staff have necessary tools.
