Job summary
Simple Laboratories, a Chicago-based clinical laboratory, is seeking a Part Time Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) or Medical Lab Technician (MLT) who is ASCP/AMT licensed to perform moderate/high complexity testing at our Humboldt Park location. Generalist competency, instrument troubleshooting, and staff training are required.
Schedule: PM 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM with alternating weekends. The role emphasizes quality control, adherence to CLIA, HIPAA, and OSHA, and opportunities to contribute to SOP
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Clinical Laboratory Sciences, or Medical Technology program from an accredited institution required.
- MLS/MT (ASCP), AMT or other national accreditation required; meets CLIA requirements for high complexity testing personnel.
- Minimum 3 years in a high complexity laboratory; ability to demonstrate competency in all assays within the department.
Responsibilities
- Determine specimen acceptability for testing per laboratory criteria.
- Perform routine and complex procedures per SOPs with QC requirements.
- Make technical decisions regarding testing and resolve issues as they occur.
- Maintain knowledge to analyze test results and address abnormal findings.
