Job summary

Simple Laboratories is seeking a Part Time Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) or Tech (MLT) licensed by ASCP/AMT for our Humboldt Park, Chicago laboratory. The role is a generalist with responsibilities across tests/procedures, instrument troubleshooting, and staff training.

You will perform high- and moderate-complexity testing, ensure quality control, and participate in method validations and SOP development while maintaining HIPAA compliance and a safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Clinical Laboratory Sciences, or Medical Technology program from an accredited institution is required.
• MLS/MT (ASCP), AMT or other national accreditation required. Meets CLIA requirements for high complexity testing personnel.
• Minimum 3 years in a high complexity laboratory; able to demonstrate competency across assays.

Responsibilities

• Determine specimen acceptability for testing per lab criteria.
• Perform routine and complex procedures per SOPs with QC requirements.
• Make technical decisions and resolve testing issues.
• Maintain knowledge to interpret results and address abnormalities.
• Perform and document QC and instrument maintenance; resolve QC failures.
