Job summary

White Plains Hospital Medical Center is seeking a Central Processing technician for Sterilization, instrument processing and decontamination. You will work with steam, Sterrad and other sterilization equipment, ensuring loads are documented and verified for efficacy.

Position requires CRCST or CSPDT certification (or grandfathered status) and prior Central Supply/OR processing experience. Evening shifts with full-time schedule and on-site duties are expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CRCST or CSPDT certification required or grandfathered.
• Previous Central Supply or Operating Room instrument processing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean and sterilize instruments and equipment following procedures.
• Operate and maintain sterilizers, ultrasonic cleaners and washer/disinfectors.
• Package, label and track instruments; inspect for cleanliness and functionality.
• Transport patients to and from the Operating Room and Post Anesthesia Care Unit.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness and inventory of supplies in Central Processing.
