Job summary

Qualifications

• Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements for this position.
• Prefer 6 months or more of experience in a home care, assisted living, or long-term care facility.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADL) tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and mobility while maintaining dignity and respect.
• Assist with moving and transferring residents into and out of bed, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, lifts, etc., following safety techniques.
• Communicate information and observed changes to a supervisor immediately.
• Assist residents to walk with or without self-help devices as instructed.
• Encourage residents to socialize and participate in activities and outings.
• Respond promptly to resident alerts and requests for care; provide assistance as needed.
• Observe residents' emotional condition and report changes to the nurse.
• Follow infection control practices and safety guidelines; report unsafe situations.
• Check residents to ensure personal care needs are met according to wishes.
• Assist in safety drills and perform other essential duties as assigned.
