Job summary

The Department of Administration seeks a Capitol Custodian for the Evening Shift in Helena, MT. You will clean the Capitol building and nearby facilities, including floors, restrooms, and glass, while performing routine upkeep and event set‑ups.

Shifts are 1:00 PM–9:30 PM outside legislative sessions and 3:00 PM–11:30 PM during sessions. A high school diploma, valid driver’s license, and ability to work with cleaning chemicals are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; alternate combinations may be considered.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to operate cleaning machinery and equipment; handle chemicals safely.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors and restrooms; wash walls and glass; remove rubbish.
• Perform routine upkeep and event set‑up/clean‑up.
• Respond to emergencies involving potential biohazards or spills.
• Maintain safe work environment and proper cleaning methods.
