Northeastern University is seeking an Operations Manager for its Oakland Campus Department of Public Safety. This role oversees daily DPS operations, coordinating officers, administrative staff, and contracted personnel, primarily during evening/overnight shifts.

The position requires leadership across a campus security function, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring compliance with safety policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus 3+ years leadership in police, security, or public safety.
• Experience leading multiple personnel on a campus or similar site comparable to Northeastern Oakland Campus.
• Flexibility to work all shifts, weekends, and extra hours as needed.
• Proficiency with Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and video conferencing platforms.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License.
• CPR and First Aid certification within 6 months of hire.
• Pass a comprehensive background check, drug screening, and psychological test.
• Read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Strong attendance and punctuality record.
• Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices; Clery Act, Title IX, NIMS.

Responsabilités

• Lead day-to-day shift operations of the Oakland Department of Public Safety (DPS) including officers and staff.
• Ensure adequate shift coverage and supervise staff; document activities.
• Monitor staff compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Perform officer duties as needed and respond to incidents; liaise with local law enforcement.
• Monitor off-campus shuttle schedule and coordinate with contractor for quality control.
• Promote Public Safety programs and build relationships with campus stakeholders.
• Assist with department budget development and equipment needs.
• Assist in developing security protocols for campus events and strategic event security vision.
