Job summary

New England College seeks a Campus Safety Officer for the evening shift (4pm-12am) to ensure the safety of students, faculty, staff, and property. The role involves patrolling campus and nearby areas, responding to routine and emergency calls, and coordinating with local law enforcement and fire services.

The ideal candidate may have a degree in Criminal Justice or related field and related security experience.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field preferred.
• 1–2 years of campus safety, private security or law enforcement experience preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in computer-based information systems.
• Knowledge of Title IX investigation requirements.
• Knowledge of college emergency management principles.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine patrols of on-campus buildings and near off-campus areas.
• Respond to routine and emergency calls for assistance.
• Conduct investigations and document violations with written incident reports.
• Lock and unlock campus buildings and offices as needed.
• Enforce parking policies and issue tickets or tow vehicles when necessary.
• Coordinate with local police and fire departments on safety matters.
