Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Building Engineer to monitor, maintain, and repair critical building systems on the second shift (3:00PM–11:00PM, Sun–Thu) at a hospital and medical office campus in Pflugerville, TX. Role includes HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems support.

You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and respond to work orders, ensuring safety, reliability, and energy efficiency across campus operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4–5 years of related experience.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance practices.
• Ability to lift/carry heavy loads up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Ability to exercise judgment based on multiple sources of information.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong organizational skills and analytical mindset.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair on electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire/life safety systems, and general facility equipment.
• Troubleshoot and replace HVAC components such as filters, belts, and related parts.
• Inspect and maintain air handlers and chillers.
• Maintain plumbing systems and fixtures, unclog drains, repair leaks, replace fixtures.
• Complete general building maintenance tasks (hanging décor, moving furniture, drywall repair, carpentry).
• Electrical maintenance including replacing ballasts and light bulbs; troubleshoot outages.
• Support fire/life safety system maintenance and inspections.
• Respond to routine and emergency work orders promptly.
• Work independently with minimal supervision; maintain high service standards.
• Interact professionally with clients, tenants, and staff.
