Job summary

Saint Peter’s Healthcare System in New Brunswick, NJ, is seeking a part-time Admissions-Registration representative for evening shifts. The role involves identifying payers, verifying network status, ensuring payer requirements, collecting payments, preparing charts, and communicating patient rights and responsibilities.

Applicants should have medical terminology, ICD coding experience, and strong customer service skills. Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred.

• Knowledge of third party payer, federal and state regulations desired

Responsibilities

• Identify primary and secondary payers.
• Determine if services are in or out of network and alerts patients to cost differentials.
• Identify and meet third-party payer requirements of immediate admission notification, precertification, referral or authorization inclusive of party payer requirements of immediate admission notification, precertification, referral or authorization.
• Collect payment in full inclusive of co-payment and deposits.
• Prepare patient's chart.
• Communicate patient rights and responsibilities.
