Job summary

Qualifications

• Previous hospital admissions/registrar experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and meet timelines.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Customer service experience required.
• High School Graduate or GED equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patient or representative to obtain demographics.
• Secures insurance information, eligibility, benefits, and authorizations.
• Works with Admitting departments, PBX, and reception areas.
• Input and retrieve data using a computer.
• Communicate with patients using age-appropriate techniques.
• Maintain proficiency in medical terminology.
• Complete special projects within defined timeframes.
