Job summary

Banner Health in Mesa, Arizona, is seeking an Acute Pharmacy Technician to obtain complete medication histories by interviewing patients, families, and other resources. You will document histories into the medical record and support safe patient care under pharmacist supervision.

The role requires AZ Pharmacy Technician licensure/certification or intern licensure, with at least two years of experience. The schedule is four 10-hour shifts including weekends, with incentives and shift

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Technician licensure and active certification OR Pharmacy Intern licensure in the state of practice.
• AZ RBP Wallet Card at time of hire.
• Minimum of two years pharmacy technician experience.
• Knowledge of brand/generic drug names, OTCs and their strengths/uses, plus herbal/dietary supplements.

Responsibilities

• Obtain a patient’s complete medication history through interviews with patient, family, or other resources.
• Document medication history and allergies in the EHR.
• Notify proper hospital staff of medication history completion.
• Follow infection control and safety procedures during interviews.
• Assist with duties of Acute Pharmacy Technician as needed (medication prep, charging, restocking, IV meds).
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and perform quality control checks.
