Job summary

Banner Health in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an Acute Pharmacy Technician to assist your pharmacist with packaging, distribution, non-sterile compounding, and record-keeping. You will interact with patients and staff, help educate peers, and ensure compliance with USP guidelines while maintaining inventory and using pharmacy software.

The role requires AZ licensure and a wallet card, with overnight shifts and holiday rotation.

Qualifications

• Requires Pharmacy Technician licensure and active Pharmacy Technician certification OR Pharmacy Intern licensure in the state of practice.
• Incumbents in Arizona are also required to provide the AZ Board of Pharmacy Wallet Card at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Identifies medications and items for reorder to maintain inventory.
• Manages users within automated dispensing technology database per policy.
• Exhibits strong customer service skills in all contacts with patients, visitors and staff.
• Restocks automated dispensing technology and verifies with a pharmacist when allowed by policy.
• Compounds non-sterile medications and prepares IV admixtures per USP guidelines.
• Maintains a safe, clean work environment and documents temperature and equipment maintenance.
