Job summary

Axiom Space is seeking an EVA Principal Systems Engineer to lead major testing campaigns for the AxEVA System. The role is onsite in Webster, Texas and reports to the EVA Systems Engineering and Integration Manager.

Responsibilities include end-to-end systems engineering for EVA hardware, MBSE model creation, traceability to Jama, and verification planning. Candidates should have 6+ years in aerospace systems engineering and NASA-related experience where possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (aerospace, electrical, mechanical) or related field.
• 6+ years of systems engineering experience across lifecycle (concepts, requirements, design, integration, V&V).
• Experience with Cameo or similar MBSE tools for system modeling.
• Experience with communications systems (UHF, WiFi, cellular/5G).
• NASA human spaceflight program experience; space suits preferred.
• Strong attention to detail with ability to see the big picture.
• Excellent writing and presentation skills for senior audiences.
• Start-up experience a plus; INCOSE CSEP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end engineering for Axiom EVA systems including suits, equipment, training, and ground support.
• Develop concept of operations, requirements, interfaces, and procurement specs with traceability.
• Create MBSE system model and decompose to component level functions and interfaces.
• Integrate system model into Jama for full traceability from requirements to design.
• Perform trade studies to improve communications architectures and suit updates.
• Support verification and validation planning and execution for EVA requirements.
• Create and manage EVA system product breakdown structures and architecture.
• Provide system-level and subsystem-level support and assess change impacts.
• Define and maintain integrated performance assessments and conduct additional tasks as needed.
