Job summary

Axiom Space is seeking an EVA Principal Systems Engineer to lead major testing campaigns for the AxEVA System, reporting to the EVA Systems Engineering and Integration Manager. This onsite role is based in Webster, Texas.

The ideal candidate will own end-to-end systems engineering across EVA subsystems, coordinate V&V activities, and collaborate with program offices, customers, and cross-functional teams. A background in space suits and NASA programs is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (aerospace, electrical, mechanical, or related) with 9+ years systems engineering experience.
• Experience with NASA human spaceflight programs and testing of spacecraft and spacesuits preferred.
• Excellent writing and presentation skills for senior decision-makers and technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end, cradle-to-grave systems engineering for Axiom EVA Systems (Suits, Flight Support Equipment, Training Equipment, Ground Equipment, EVA Tools).
• Define and maintain system architectures, interfaces, requirements derivation, and procurement specs.
• Coordinate verification and validation (V&V) plans across engineering teams and suppliers.
• Plan and execute V&V activities, including defining approaches and requirements for EVA concepts of operations.
• Monitor progress, communicate issues, and capture evidence to close verification actions.
