EV Technician: High-Voltage Diagnostics & Mobile Service

Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a mobile EV technician to diagnose, service, and repair Rivian electric vehicles and systems in the field.

You will perform high-voltage diagnostics and repairs (battery systems, inverters, drive units), follow Rivian safety protocols, and conduct preventive maintenance for EV fleets. A valid driver’s license and own tools are required; Rivian EV certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of diesel and/or automotive repair experience.
• Basic to intermediate electrical knowledge.
• Safety-first mindset.
• Ability to work independently in a mobile environment.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Must supply own tools.
• Rivian EV certification (highly preferred).
• Experience working with electric or hybrid vehicles.
• Experience working on Dodge Promasters preferred.
• Other EV or high-voltage certifications a plus.
• CDL (a plus).
• Welding or fabrication experience.
• Diesel technician experience a plus.
• 1 year experience performing PMs and DOT inspections.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, and repair Rivian electric vehicles and systems
• Perform high-voltage system diagnostics and repairs (battery systems, inverters, drive units)
• Follow all Rivian and EV-specific safety protocols including PPE and lockout/tagout
• Perform traditional mechanical repairs when applicable (suspension, brakes, HVAC)
• Complete preventive maintenance and inspections for EV fleets
• Utilize diagnostic software and tablets for work orders and system updates
• Maintain accurate documentation of all repairs and diagnostics
• Manage mobile service inventory and parts sourcing
