Job summary

Harbinger in California is seeking a Service Trainer to develop, coordinate and deliver hands-on technical training for our authorized EV dealer network. The role requires travel to dealer locations and training centers to ensure technicians are trained in high‑voltage safety, battery systems, charging infrastructure and diagnostics.

You will design modules, lab tools and manuals, assess technician competency with exams, mentor staff and support field operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Service Technician, Automotive Trainer, or in a related technical role.
• Minimum of 2+ years direct experience working with or training on High Voltage (HV) EV systems and components.
• Must hold or be able to immediately obtain a recognized certification in High‑Voltage EV Safety (e.g., OEM/SAE/ASE).
• Associate’s Degree in Automotive Technology, Technical Education, or related field; or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver multi-day instructor-led EV training sessions at dealer sites and training centers.
• Develop and update training modules with Engineering, Service Operations, and Technical Publications teams.
• Create and maintain training aids, lab vehicles, diagnostic tools, and participant manuals.
• Assess technician competency with practical and written exams and manage LMS records.
• Provide field support and coaching to dealer service management and technicians to drive improvement.
• Ensure high-voltage safety and use of specialized service equipment in all training.
• Travel domestically up to 50% to dealer sites and regional centers.
