Job summary

Astemo, Ltd. is seeking a Controls Engineer - Robotics to join the xEV Regional Production Engineering group in the United States. The role focuses on developing, supporting, and implementing robotic cells and stations for assembly, testing, and inspection of electric motor programs.

You will work on robot programming, setup, troubleshooting, and optimization to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective automation across multiple programs. Domestic and international travel may be required.

Qualifications

Engineering skills with a strong focus on control systems, PLC programming, robotics integration, and industrial automation.
Experience with robot programming, setup, troubleshooting, and optimization for assembly or material handling processes.
Ability to make quick, accurate, data-driven decisions and utilize excellent structured problem-solving skills.
Well organized, attention to detail, and able to handle multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously.
Strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
Computer literacy with MS Office and programming experience.
Willingness to support the corporate culture with an absolute focus on ethics and fairness.

Responsibilities

Part of the xEV Regional Production Engineering group for Hybrid and Electric Vehicle products; support Electric Motor programs.
Establish specifications, equipment, processes, quotations, and documentation for motor programs.
Develop, support, and implement robotic cells and stations for assembly, material handling, testing, and inspection tasks.
Identify synergy potentials across programs and apply best practices to drive cost-effective solutions.
