Job summary

Astemo America is seeking a senior engineer to support technology development for xEV motors. You will interpret customer requirements and collaborate with a global engineering team to design and develop motors that meet specifications.

The role involves mechanical packaging, CAE validation, and close interaction with US/Japan teams, suppliers, and customers. Strong CAD/CAE skills and experience in inverter/motor integration are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum BSME
• 5+ years automotive design experience
• 3+ years traction motor / inverter & motor integrated e-Axle experience
• Fluent in English and Japanese

Responsibilities

• Lead or support mechanical packaging development for xEV motors.
• Plan and manage multiple projects to meet goals within deadlines.
• Interpret customer requirements and translate into motor designs with global teams.
• Coordinate technical communications between OEMs and design teams across regions.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD drawings and CAE data for product designs.
• Support validation testing, prototype build, and production launches.
• Assist with cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives.
