Job summary

ASML US, LLC in San Diego seeks a Plasma and Laser Physics Engineer to validate EUV source performance, design experiments, analyze data with MATLAB/Python, and optimize system reliability for next-generation lithography.

You will collaborate with system architects, scientists, and manufacturing teams, document results, support customer escalations, travel as needed, and ensure safe operation in a clean room environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Plasma Physics, Engineering Physics, Applied Physics or related field.
Master's or PhD preferred for advanced research roles.
Experience with optics, laser-induced plasma, optical metrology or control systems.

Responsibilities

Develop system-level expertise on EUV light source performance.
Apply theoretical models and experimental techniques to analyze performance.
Design, execute, and document experiments to validate prototype hardware and software.
Develop and execute test plans with traceability to system requirements.
Collect, process, and analyze large datasets using MATLAB, Python, and diagnostic tools.
Troubleshoot performance issues and recommend design improvements.
Collaborate with system architects, design engineers, and manufacturing teams.
