Job summary

Garney is seeking an Estimator to join its growing Estimating Team in Charlotte, NC. This full-time, salaried role includes full benefits and ESOP participation.

Ideal candidates have estimating experience in water, wastewater, or industrial markets and can perform takeoffs and cost estimates for complex projects. Responsibilities include reviewing documents, preparing estimates, analyzing data, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers, and contributing to value engineering and risk

Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction estimating experience.
• Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for water/wastewater projects.
• Review project documents, plans, specs, and addenda accurately.
• Analyze estimate data affecting labor, materials, equipment, and location costs.
• Handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier proposals.
• Build relationships with small businesses, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Provide input on value engineering.
• Develop conceptual estimates from limited information with assumptions.
• Prepare contingency and risk analysis for estimates.
• Communicate bid information to field operations at pre-con meetings.
