Job summary

Garney Construction is seeking an Estimator to join its growing Estimating Team. This full-time role offers full benefits and ESOP participation, and prefers candidates with water, wastewater, or industrial estimating experience.

You will prepare detailed takeoffs and estimates, analyze data, review drawings, and coordinate with field operations to ensure clarity of scope and construction methods.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction estimating experience.
• Proficiency interpreting construction drawings and understanding specifications.
• Ability to review take-off quantities for data accuracy.
• Experience with collaborative, team-based environments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for water and wastewater projects.
• Review project documents, plans, specs, and addenda for accuracy.
• Analyze estimate data affecting labor, materials, equipment, and location.
• Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier proposals.
• Develop and maintain relationships with small businesses and suppliers.
• Provide input on value engineering and risk analysis.
• Create conceptual estimates from limited information with assumptions.
• Communicate bid information to field operations during pre-construction meetings.
