Description

Function


This Estimator position supports the Sales Team by translating customers' functional requirements into bills of materials, quotes, and documents. The estimator reports to the Sales Manager.


Daily Responsibilities


  1. Receiving requests from sales to create quotes and supporting documents for opportunities.
  2. Researching and compiling the information necessary to specify equipment and create quotes.
  3. Communicating opportunities to manufacturers' representatives and securing pricing.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Review and interpret functional requirements and site surveys documented by the Salesperson.
  2. Read and interpret RFP documentation to provide detailed RFI responses and accurate proposals.
  3. Collaborate with the Salesperson to develop solutions that meet clients' needs and budgets.
  4. Create bills of materials, quotes, and other documents.
  5. Ensure documents are clear and legible for both clients and internal teams.
  6. Use modeling software to select the proper hardware for projects.
  7. Author change orders as needed.
  8. Respond to technical questions from Sales and Operations teams.
  9. Support The Clearwing Group
  10. Stay updated on current and new technologies.
  11. Maintain vendor relationships through meetings, educational sessions, and communication.
  12. Collaborate with the Sales Manager to develop a continuing education plan.
Qualifications

Skill/Experience Requirements


  • 5+ years of experience in performance audio/video systems design, installation, or production.
  • Knowledge of audio distribution, video distribution, control systems, networking, and lighting systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ownership and use of a smartphone for communication platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Outlook, etc.
Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD and/or REVIT.
  • Experience with audio system modeling programs.
  • Experience in SketchUp, Lightwright, and/or Vectorworks.
  • Avixa CTS and/or industry-standard certifications.
Physical Working Conditions

  • Ability to sit for extended periods and use a computer.
  • Light to moderate lifting may be required.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is a must.
