Job summary

BL Harbert International in Birmingham, AL is seeking an Estimator to review plans and specifications, perform detailed quantity take-offs, and prepare bid packages using Timberline Estimating, OST and iSqft. You will manage subcontractor solicitation to ensure at least three competitive bids on all scopes of work.

Requires a 4-year degree or 3+ years of relevant experience, plus strong plan reading and proficiency with Word/Excel.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree or minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel.
• Proficiency in Timberline Estimating and On-Screen Take-Off.
• Proficiency in iSqft (online bid solicitation software).
• In-depth plan and specification reading and bid evaluation skills.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and specifications in detail.
• Input quantity surveys into Timberline Estimating as directed.
• Price items and provide competitive bids from subcontractors.
• Maintain communication with the Senior Estimator and other estimators.
• Distribute plans to subcontractors/vendors and solicit bids (min. 3).
• Develop RFIs and analyze quotes from multiple subs/vendors.
• Draft subcontracts and purchase orders; manage multiple projects.
