Job summary

BL Harbert International is seeking an Estimator to support cost estimates for commercial, federal, industrial, and healthcare construction projects in Birmingham, AL. The role involves analyzing drawings and specs, quantifying materials and labor, and gathering pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.

You will assist in preparing detailed estimates, participate in bid reviews, and help maintain estimate records, collaborating with internal teams to communicate scope and pricing effectively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with estimating software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing accurate and detailed estimates for construction projects.
• Support the evaluation of drawings and specifications to understand scope.
• Help collect and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Participate in internal estimating meetings and bid reviews.
• Assist with organizing bid documents and maintaining estimate records.
• Communicate scope of work and pricing with internal teams and subcontractors.
