Job summary

DH Pace Company, Inc. in Olathe, KS is seeking an Estimator to prepare accurate, timely bids for commercial door and loading dock systems, with minimal supervision and close coordination with sales.

The ideal candidate will read blueprints, estimate materials and labor, and use estimating software, Excel, and other tools to support profitable projects and strong customer relationships.

Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints/plans and specs is highly desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively while sustaining individual and team workloads.
• Overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Rapidly develops or possesses advanced level skills at using DH Pace estimating processes and software (Excel, Bluebeam, Smartsheet, IFS, SAM).
• Develops knowledge of door and dock products, functionality, features, usage options and pricing variance.
• Learns core product lines, vendors, and labor standards.
• Educates sales team on product options and assists customers in product selection to ensure successful projects.
• Performs quote reviews, scope creation, material lists, and product selections to generate accurate estimates.
• Estimates advanced and complex projects of limited size, drafting clear proposals for manager review.
• Maintains positive relationships with contractors, architects, and internal staff.
• Builds vendor relationships and meets estimating volume targets as warranted.
