Job summary

Allegiance Group in Indianapolis is seeking an experienced Estimator to support a robust pipeline of commercial construction projects across fire stations, mixed-use developments, retail, offices, and more.

As part of the estimating team, you will review drawings and specs, prepare detailed estimates and bid packages, conduct quantity takeoffs, and collaborate with project managers, subs, and vendors to optimize pricing and bid strategy.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of commercial estimating experience.
• Experience with fire stations, mixed-use, retail, offices, or automotive dealerships is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cost drivers, drawings, specs, and subcontractor pricing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates, budgets, quantity takeoffs, and bid packages for commercial construction projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to identify scope requirements, risks, exclusions, and pricing opportunities.
• Solicit, analyze, and level subcontractor and supplier proposals.
• Develop conceptual budgets and detailed estimates from early design through final bid.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors throughout the estimating and preconstruction process.
• Support value engineering, cost analysis, subcontractor buyout, and bid strategy.
• Maintain accurate historical cost data and stay informed on local subcontractor and material pricing.

Our client, a respected Midwest General Contractor, is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their Indianapolis team and support a strong pipeline of commercial construction projects.

The successful candidate will be involved in estimating projects across fire stations, mixed-use developments, retail, office buildings, car dealerships, and other commercial construction throughout the Greater Indianapolis area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed estimates, budgets, quantity takeoffs, and bid packages for commercial construction projects
• Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to identify scope requirements, risks, exclusions, and pricing opportunities
• Solicit, analyze, and level subcontractor and supplier proposals
• Develop conceptual budgets and detailed estimates from early design through final bid
• Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors throughout the estimating and preconstruction process
• Support value engineering, cost analysis, subcontractor buyout, and bid strategy
• Maintain accurate historical cost data and stay informed on local subcontractor and material pricing

Required Experience & Skills:

• Proven estimating experience with a General Contractor
• Commercial construction experience, ideally across projects such as fire stations, mixed-use, retail, offices, or automotive dealerships
• Strong understanding of construction costs, trade scopes, drawings, specifications, and subcontractor pricing
• Experience with conceptual estimating, quantity takeoffs, bid leveling, and budget development
• Proficiency with estimating platforms such as Bluebeam, BuildingConnected, On-Screen Takeoff, Procore, or similar
• Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail
• Familiarity with the Greater Indianapolis construction market is preferred
