Job summary

MPI in Indianapolis seeks an estimator to own the full estimating lifecycle—from conceptual budgets to hard bid—driving pricing, scope, and strategy on complex commercial projects.

You will partner with designers, PMs, and suppliers, leverage cost data and value engineering, and lead bid reviews to deliver accurate, competitive estimates and contribute to the growth of the Indianapolis operation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of commercial GC estimating experience.
• Strong understanding of preconstruction and estimating.

Take ownership of the full estimating lifecycle-from early conceptual budgets through competitive hard bid-while shaping pricing, scope, and strategy on complex commercial projects. Serve as a key preconstruction partner to clients, architects, and project teams, driving smarter decisions through accurate estimating, value engineering, and real-time market insight.

Description

• Own estimates from conceptual budgeting through hard bid, including takeoffs, pricing, bid leveling, scope review, and final submission
• Partner closely with architects and design teams throughout design development, providing real-time budgeting, cost analysis, and constructability input
• Drive subcontractor and supplier procurement by soliciting, scoping, leveling, and analyzing bids for complete and competitive coverage
• Build and maintain cost histories, estimating databases, assemblies, and market intelligence to strengthen pricing accuracy
• Help advance estimating technology and processes, improving software utilization, workflows, and overall efficiency
• Lead estimate reviews with design, construction, and project teams to ensure scope, pricing, and project goals remain aligned
• Serve as a trusted preconstruction partner to clients and design teams, delivering conceptual pricing, value-engineering solutions, and detailed estimates

Profile

• 2+ years of commercial GC estimating experience
• Strong understanding of preconstruction, estimating, and commercial construction
• Ability to collaborate with PMs, field teams, design partners, and senior leadership
• Proficient with industry-standard estimating software and construction technology
• Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail
• Client-facing mindset with a focus on quality, transparency, and relationship building
• Driven to help grow the Indianapolis operation and take on increasing leadership responsibility long-term
