Job summary

Taylor Corporation’s Navitor division in North Mankato, MN seeks an Estimating Representative to process quotes efficiently while balancing profitability and order securing. You’ll evaluate costs, materials and make-ready factors, and collaborate with sales, CSR and engineering teams to optimize production costs.

The role requires a strong print industry background, adept use of estimating software, Excel, and solid math and communication skills. First shift, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of related experience.
• Advanced understanding of the print process.
• Knowledge and ability to use computerized estimating systems.
• Strong math skills with numbers, fractions and decimals.
• Proficient in Excel with simple formulas.
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook (calendar, e-mail, tasks).
• Excellent problem solving, follow-up, decision making and organizational skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and collaborate in a team.

Responsibilities

• Receive and respond to quote requests from the sales group and customers directly.
• Review and prepare responses to RFPs and large direct opportunities.
• Gather details and compile data for production costs per specifications.
• Understand cost pricing factors: material cost, spoilage, make ready.
• Collaborate with CSRs, AMs and Sales Reps to understand customer requirements.
• Work with Engineering and Manufacturing to identify efficient production processes.
• Estimate job costs and apply appropriate markup.
• Quote alternative materials to meet requirements and secure the order.
• Strive to improve processes and cost efficiencies.
