Job summary

Taylor Corporation’s FolderWorks division in North Mankato, MN, seeks an Estimating Representative to promptly process quotes and balance profitability with order securing. Shift is 1st, Monday–Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm, at the Navitor facility.

You will handle quote requests, review RFPs, and compute costs, while collaborating with CSR/AM/Sales and Engineering to optimize production and costs. Strong math, Excel, and estimating software skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 1+ years of related experience.
• Advanced understanding of the print process.
• Knowledge and the ability to use computerized estimating systems.
• Ability to effectively respond to questions from management, customers, sales representatives, and employees.
• Strong math skills - ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratios, percent and draw and interpret graphs.
• Ability to communicate both written and verbally.
• Ability to work well under pressure; work with diverse personalities and deal effectively with conflict.
• Strong work ethic, dependable, accountable, and displays a sense of urgency.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook system to include calendar, e-mail, task list, etc.; excellent computer (Microsoft Office Suite) and data entry skills.
• Proficient in Excel with the ability to create spreadsheets with simple formulas.
• Excellent problem solving (think outside the box), follow-up, decision making, and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail with minimal errors.
• Ability to work well as a member of a team.

Responsibilities

• Receive and respond to quote requests from the sales group and customers directly.
• Review and prepare responses to RFPs and large direct opportunities by gathering details and compiling data for all production cost according to specifications.
• Understand the cost pricing structure; factors such as material cost, spoilage and make ready.
• Work with CSR’s, AM’s and Sales Reps to understand customer requirements and provide exceptional service.
• Work with Engineering and Manufacturing resources as need to identify most efficient production process.
• Estimate job costs and apply the appropriate markup if required.
• Quote alternative materials as needed to meet requirements and secure the order.
• Strive to improve processes and cost efficiencies.
