Kerkering, Barberio & Co. is seeking a Tax Supervisor for the Estate & Trust team. This role handles estate, trust, gift, and individual tax engagements, supervising staff and ensuring accurate, timely results for complex fiduciary matters.

The position emphasizes strong tax knowledge, leadership, and client communication with a focus on quality and adherence to deadlines. Flexible work-from-home options are available.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with tax preparation programs and tax research tools.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations for estates, trusts, gifts, fiduciaries, and individuals.
• Experience preparing Forms 1040, 1041, and 706.
• Ability to interpret wills, trust documents, financial records, and related supporting information.
• Strong critical thinking, professional judgment, and communication skills.
• Experience supervising staff and providing training to less-experienced team members.

Responsibilities

• Performs estate, trust, gift, and individual tax engagements with minimal direct supervision.
• Prepares and reviews fiduciary income tax returns (Form 1041) and related beneficiary reporting.
• Prepares and reviews estate and gift tax returns (Forms 706 and 709).
• Directs planning, scheduling, and staffing of client engagements.
• Mentors staff, reviews workpapers, and ensures quality control.
