This role supports leadership with financial analysis in a small to mid-sized food distribution company. The successful candidate will oversee cash flow, reconciliations, and reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
• Extensive work with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Strong knowledge of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and financial reporting.
• Experience with Sage 100 ERP systems preferred.
• Advanced Excel and spreadsheet skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and General Ledger activities.
• Reconcile bank accounts and maintain accurate financial records.
• Enter and process invoices, payments, deposits, and customer account activity.
• Monitor and collect past due accounts and maintain Accounts Receivable aging reports.
• Review daily sales and profitability reports to investigate discrepancies and margin variances.
• Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports for management.
• Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes in Sage.
• Prepare reports and documentation for CPA review and tax reporting.
• Maintain customer account setup and financial data accuracy.
• Ensure timely processing of recurring invoices, payments, and reconciliations.
• Support inventory, fuel surcharge, and operational reporting processes.
• Assist with compliance reporting including 1099s, sales tax, and unclaimed property filings.

Accounting Specialist

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to be responsible for managing daily accounting operations, financial reporting, accounts receivables/payables, and month-end closing processes.
