Jupiter Environmental Laboratories Inc. is seeking a knowledgeable Accountant to join our employee-owned company.

You will manage day-to-day accounting operations, document financial transactions, prepare financial statements, and oversee payroll with a strong emphasis on ESOP accounting practices. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, highly organized, and proficient in GAAP, Excel, QuickBooks Online, and advanced accounting systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• GAAP knowledge preferred.
• Strong math and analytical abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Enter financial data and transactions.
• Analyze budgets, purchasing and other financial information.
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements, loans and leases.
• Prepare financial reports for ESOP administrator, valuators, trustee and board.
• Verify accuracy of transactions and close books with journal entries.
• Manage accounts payable/receivable and collections.
• Develop accounting policies to comply with regulations.
• Process payroll and manage PTO/benefits including health, 401k and ESOP shares.
• Manage insurance for GL PL, WC, property and auto.
• Prepare Tangible tax returns.
