Job summary

EHRET HIGH in Marrero, LA is seeking an ESL paraprofessional to support English proficient students and act as a liaison between staff, parents, and the community. The role includes tutoring in native languages, translating notes and forms, and coordinating native language content area tutoring with ELAD and teachers.

Responsibilities also cover assisting with student achievement records, participating in trainings, and supporting classroom management while following a regular school schedule.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or 48 college hours or ParaPro Praxis.
• Proven bilingual communication skills in English and another language.
• Ability to translate notes, forms, and letters to home language.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction/tutoring in all subjects to English proficient students.
• Serve as liaison between department, parents, and school staff; assist in Parent Advisory Council activities.
• Translate communications and coordinate native language tutoring with ELAD and content teachers.
• Maintain classroom discipline and assist in planning learning environments.
• Attend workshops and meetings as requested by supervisor/ELAD Coordinator.
