Job summary

WOODLAND WEST SCHOOL in Harvey, LA, seeks a Paraprofessional - ESL Arabic to support bilingual learners and assist teachers in delivering instruction. Qualifications

• Associate Degree or 48 college hours, in any language.
• Pass ParaPro Praxis and have high school diploma and/or equivalency.
• 18 years of age or older; 21 for employment in high school.
• Oral and written proficiency in English and one of the major languages of the population to be served.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction/tutoring in all subject areas to limited English proficient students.
• Translate notes, forms, and letters to the home language.
• Coordinate tutoring with ELAD and content teachers.
• Assist in maintaining discipline and a conducive learning environment.
• Attend workshops and assist in record keeping as required.
