Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional ESL and Special education/moderate disabilities teacher to join our community of teachers, learners and leaders. This position reports to CO-LEAD TEACHERS and centers on high expectations for achievement and closing gaps while delivering rigorous instruction for multilingual learners and students with disabilities.

Qualifications

• Hold a Massachusetts Teaching License in ESL at the appropriate grade level.
• Hold a Massachusetts Teaching License in Moderate Disabilities at the appropriate grade level.
• Current authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Teach English as a Second Language to Multilingual Learners identified as English Learners.
• Collaborate with content teachers to align instruction and support English language development across domains.
• Collaborate with the instructional leadership team and coaches to ensure language support and academic assistance.
• Assist with ACCESS administration and ELL assessments as appropriate.
• Plan and deliver lessons aligned to ELD standards and Can Do Descriptors.
• Provide design and implementation of supports for ELL transition when appropriate.
• Deliver equitable, engaging instruction and differentiate for diverse learners.
• Engage families to build collaborative relationships in service of student learning.
