Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional English as a Second Language and Special Education/Moderate Disabilities teacher to join our community of learners and leaders in Boston. Reports to: Principal/Head of School.

This role emphasizes delivering ESL instruction to multilingual learners while collaborating with content teachers to support language development and academic achievement. The candidate will plan lessons aligned to WIDA standards, assist with ACCESS administration, and maintain

Qualifications

• Hold a valid Massachusetts Teaching License in ESL at the appropriate grade level.
• Hold a valid Massachusetts Teaching License in Moderate Disabilities at the appropriate grade level.
• Complete state and federal guidelines to be fully licensed and Highly Qualified.
• Ability to meet the Standards of Effective Teaching as outlined by BPS.
• Current authorization to work in the United States by first day of employment.
• Ability to model excellent spoken and written English for students learning English.

Responsibilities

• Teach: English as a Second Language.
• Provide ESL instruction to Multilingual Learners identified as English Learners.
• Collaborate with content teachers to align instruction across language domains.
• Collaborate with instructional leadership to ensure language support and academic assistance.
• Assist with ACCESS administration and ELL student transition meetings.
• Plan and deliver lessons aligned to WIDA standards for varying English proficiency levels.
• Demonstrate culturally proficient instructional practices and use of technology.
• Assist with administration of assessments for English language learners.
• Attend district/state professional development to stay current with ELL instruction.
