Johnson County Community College is seeking an ELL Instructor to teach non-credit English to non-native speakers at JCAE locations (West Park and Center of Grace). The role emphasizes reading, vocabulary, listening, speaking, writing, and grammar in a student-centered classroom.

Responsibilities include creating weekly lesson plans, implementing curriculum focused on life and workplace skills, and utilizing online resources.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Education, ESL or related area.
• Experience teaching English language learners in a classroom setting.
• Ability to create quality digital lesson plans and maintain a student-centered classroom.
• Demonstrate classroom management skills.
• Interactive teaching method.
• Understand, support and differentiate for multi-level learners.

Responsabilidades

• Create weekly lesson plans using provided templates.
• Implement curriculum emphasizing life skills, workplace skills, digital literacy, civics/citizenship and more.
• Utilize the JCAE ELL website and online resources to teach in a classroom setting.
• Maintain student data, attendance records and other resources.
• Meet with learners at the beginning and end of the semester to discuss goals and growth.
• Participate in onboarding, staff development and mandatory trainings.
• Fill in for other teachers as needed.
