Job summary

• Develop and pursue new contract opportunities to expand services and funding.
• Attend meetings and events concerning transportation matters.
• Represent ECATS before community organizations and agencies.
• Identify and pursue funding sources to supplement federal grant resources.
• Assist with development, preparation and administration of grants.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the County Administrator.
• Willing to travel for training or county functions and work overtime when needed.

Job Responsibilities

Transportation System Operations

Manage the daily operations of the Escambia County Alabama Transit System (ECATS), currently consisting of 11 buses.

• Oversee the scheduling of routes and employees.
• Monitor the quality of transportation services provided to riders.
• Monitor daily operations to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations established by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT).

Records and Reporting

• Ensure that all required records, reports, and documentation are completed accurately and submitted to appropriate oversight agencies in a correct and timely manner.
• Maintain organized records in accordance with applicable federal, state, and county requirements.

Contracts and Community Relations

• Maintain regular contact and positive working relationships with representatives of existing contract clients.
• Develop and pursue new contract opportunities to expand transportation services and funding.
• Attend meetings, conferences, and other events concerning transportation-related matters.
• Represent ECATS before community organizations and other appropriate agencies or groups.

Funding and Grant Resources

• Actively identify and pursue funding sources to supplement federal grant resources.
• Assist with the development, preparation, and administration of applicable grant and funding opportunities.

Other Duties

• Perform other duties as may be assigned by the County Administrator.
• Must be willing to work overtime to complete work within specified period of time.
• Willing to travel to attend training or to other County Functions required by supervisor.

Minimum Requirements

• Associates Degree or higher (preferred).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Salary Commensurate with Experience
