Job summary

Emerson Sherman, TX is seeking an Environmental Safety and Health Manager to lead site-wide ES&H programs, drive regulatory compliance, and oversee risk reduction initiatives. You will coordinate training, support emergency response, and champion sustainability in a manufacturing setting.

The role emphasizes collaboration, safety culture, and maintaining OSHA VPP Star standards while ensuring operational excellence and community well-being at the Sherman site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental, Safety and Health, Engineering, Chemistry or safety related science.
• Two years of experience in Environmental and Industrial Health and Safety in manufacturing settings.
• Applied knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental health and safety regulations.
• Broad knowledge of hazards and chemical processes in manufacturing environments.
• Broad knowledge of federal OSHA and state safety regulations and programs.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across the site, advising Emergency Response Team and Safety Committee.
• Develop, implement, and maintain ES&H programs and policies in line with regulations.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and identify hazards, creating strategies to minimize risks.
• Plan and conduct ES&H training programs for employees at all levels.
• Lead sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental footprint and promote resource conservation.
• Manage site security including access control and CCTV.
• Serve as Management Representative for OSHA VPP Star certification and compliance audits.
