Job summary

Coherent Corp. in Sherman, TX seeks an experienced EHS leader to champion the site’s health, safety, and environmental programs. You will direct the EHS Management System, drive improvement initiatives, and ensure regulatory compliance across OSHA, EPA, and state requirements.

The role requires strong incident investigation skills, training program oversight, and collaboration with site leadership. Onsite work, response readiness, and governance of hazardous materials are key responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental health and safety, or related field.
• Five+ years of EHS management experience in a manufacturing/high-hazard environment.
• Experience leading EHS personnel and programs.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, Texas requirements, and industry standards.
• Experience with OSHA Process Safety Management and wastewater/air permits.

Responsibilities

• Lead the site EHS Management System in alignment with Coherent standards and ISO requirements.
• Develop and execute site EHS strategy, objectives, and KPIs.
• Oversee EHS training, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
• Manage safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental programs and records.
• Coordinate with leadership and regulatory bodies during inspections and audits.
• Provide guidance for contractor safety and project EHS planning.
