Job summary

Phaxis is seeking a Financial Systems Manager in New York to own and optimize the ERP environment across Finance and IT. You will lead system administration, automation, and financial reporting enhancements while ensuring data integrity and policy compliance.

The ideal candidate has a strong accounting background, hands-on ERP and scripting skills, and the ability to drive cross-functional initiatives across the organization.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on ERP experience.
• Strong accounting foundation and financial operations knowledge.
• Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical users.
• Experience with system implementations, upgrades, or optimization initiatives.
• Excellent collaboration with Finance, IT, and external vendors.

Responsibilities

• Oversee user roles, permissions, controls, and security settings.
• Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for ERP environment.
• Manage system updates, releases, integrations, and third-party applications.
• Configure and maintain core modules including GL, AP, AR, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, and Purchasing.
• Improve reporting accuracy, automation, and workflow efficiency.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
• Ensure configurations align with accounting standards and internal policies.
• Partner with Finance leadership to design and maintain dashboards, reports, and KPIs.
• Lead system-related projects including module implementations, upgrades, and integrations.
• Train end-users and develop SOPs, documentation, and best practices.
• Act as liaison between Finance, IT, and external vendors or consultants.
• Maintain documentation for system changes, controls, and configurations.
