Job summary

Elevant Recruiting represents a client for a Supply Chain Specialist / Materials Planning Specialist in Commerce, CA. The role reports to the Supply Chain Manager and focuses on planning, forecasting, and coordinating inbound/outbound raw material flow to support production schedules.

You will collaborate with Supply Chain, Sales, Quality, and Operations, manage day-to-day inventory movements, cycle counts, ERP accuracy, and supplier lead times.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of ERP systems and inventory management.
• Proficient in Excel and database tools.
• Experience with MRP planning and procurement.
• Strong communication across teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate inbound/outbound material flow by ocean, air, rail, and truck freight shipments.
• Maintain aging inventory meetings, cycle counting, and physical inventories.
• Ensure accuracy of inventory in ERP daily; report BOM inaccuracies.
• Analyze MRP reports and forecasts to define procurement plans.
• Collaborate with Planning, Quality, Customer Service, Sales, Distribution, Purchasing, and Production teams.
• Maintain inventory levels, inventory turns, and safety stock.
• Coordinate with Quality for non-conformances, sort processes, WIP, raw materials, and finished goods.
• Maintain cycle count program and ERP accuracy daily/weekly/monthly.
• Maintain warehouse space, labeling, and space location accuracy.
• Root cause analysis for inventory discrepancies and procedures to prevent recurrence.
• Define safety levels for bulk raw materials with master scheduler.
• Maintain relationships with freight forwarders, negotiate pricing, ensure on-time deliveries.
• Analyze MRP needs daily/weekly/monthly to support production demands.
• Define procurement plans considering cost, storage, shelf life, and supplier lead time.
• Identify risks related to material shortages and scheduling.
