Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers the New ER Doctor (NERD) program, a six-month, immersive pathway turning practicing veterinarians into VEG ER doctors. It provides 1:1 mentorship, state-of-the-art facilities, and extensive CE as you transition into full-time ER roles.

You’ll train with top emergency doctors, participate in daily ER cases, and gain endoscopy, exotics, and critical care skills—GE ensures you’re supported throughout this career-defining journey.

Qualifications

• DVM, VMD or equivalent degree and active veterinary license.
• Practicing veterinarian with 1+ years experience in emergency medicine preferred.
• Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays on rotating schedule.

Responsibilities

• Participate in mentoring and training in the ER.
• Engage in 3–4 hospital shifts per week during the program.
• Attend weekly case discussions and hands-on training.
