Job summary

VEG is transforming veterinary emergency medicine through the New ER Doctor (NERD) program, a six-month, immersive training that turns practicing veterinarians into confident VEG ER doctors. Participants work with seasoned VEG clinicians on real ER cases, receiving hands-on learning and built-in mentorship at state‑of‑the‑art facilities with paid CE.

Qualifications

• A passion for helping people and their pets.
• Be a practicing veterinarian for 1+ years.
• A valid license to practice veterinary medicine, plus a valid DEA registration in the state of start date.
• Ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, lift up to 25 kg.
• Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Work side-by-side with VEG doctors through real ER cases with mentorship.
• Gain ER experience with 3–4 hospital shifts per week plus weekly case discussions and hands-on training.
• Learn client-centered communication and the VEG Way.
