Job summary

Akron Children’s Hospital seeks a Staff Nurse for its Emergency Department/Urgent Care Resource Pool II. You will provide clinical nursing care across multiple UD/UC locations with emphasis on family-centered care and collaboration within a pediatric team.

The role requires leadership, strong communication, and the ability to work on-site during 9:00 am–9:30 pm shifts. BSN is required or must be obtained within 5 years; Ohio RN license is mandatory, with ACLS/PALS/TNCC due within one year.

Qualifications

BSN degree required or must be obtained within 5 years from date of hire.
Active RN license in Ohio is required.
ACLS, PALS, TNCC certifications must be obtained within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and directs nursing care with a focus on family centered care.
Provides care across ED/UC locations based on unit needs.
Demonstrates leadership and professional duties among staff.
Performs patient-centered care duties and quality improvement activities.
Supports providers and promotes collaboration for high quality pediatric care.
